Hive-Aristocrat Okra
A pale face peers out beneath Okra’s purple frills, while scarred tissue marks the side where their sister struck during a duel for standing. The court witnessed the end, accepted the victor, and moved on. Okra’s body did not accept the verdict.
Recovery took longer than the ceremony that erased their claim. By the time Okra could return, their sister had supporters, a title, and every reason to describe the survivor as an impostor. Okra withdrew aboard Dethroned Petal with a handful of witnesses who remembered the old court well enough to recognize them.
They do not seek a second duel merely to settle pride. The first contest exposed how quickly their household would discard anyone declared inconvenient, and Okra intends to gather enough support to change that bargain. A stranger can earn their attention by bringing news of the court, or their gratitude by helping someone the court has chosen to forget.
