Broodkeeper Vesh
Vesh’s round face is ringed with striped spines, and their heavy eyes seem to look past whoever stands before them. They are often remembering the cradle-world where their brood first gathered: its sheltered places, its familiar rhythms, and the shape of the chambers where the young were kept.
A rival hive consumed that world. Vesh escaped with a handful of survivors and grew Sunken Cradle around the forms they could still recall. The ship is not a perfect reconstruction; memory disagrees with memory, and some spaces have been changed to serve the living aboard.
Vesh preserves those disagreements rather than choosing one account to make official. Each survivor can point to a place and say what they remember. The broodkeeper hopes to find a world where the young may grow without inheriting only loss. Until then, they defend the ship as a home, not merely as a monument.
