Liquidator Riya Bhattacharya
Bhattacharya arrives with a list of obligations and a pair of spectacles perched low enough to let her watch the people across the table. For years she settled the affairs of Combine subsidiaries that could no longer pay their debts. She learned which managers hid stock, which creditors could wait, and which workers had been promised wages that would never appear.
A failed company once tried to escape her by moving its assets aboard a warship. Bhattacharya followed, recovered what she could, and discovered that a liquidation need not stop at the edge of a desk. Going Concern now carries her into disputes where the assets are guarded by guns.
She can be exacting without being cruel. A captain willing to open the books may receive a settlement; one who destroys the evidence will meet a woman who has spent her career finding value in the wreckage.
