House-Warrior Caspar Achtmark
Caspar Achtmark keeps the paper bearing his oath in a protective case. The house that received it is gone, its property divided and its surviving members scattered, but the document contains no clause releasing him from service.
At first he guarded the empty estate. When claimants began arriving to strip it, Caspar realized that the people once protected by the house mattered more than its vacant rooms. Last Oath now carries him between former tenants, workers, and descendants who may need help with claims the new owners would rather ignore.
His single warrior’s braid and scarred brow make him recognizable to those who remember the old household. Caspar does not pretend his oath gives him authority over them. He offers service, listens to what they ask, and accepts that some want nothing from a warrior associated with their former masters. The promise remains; its meaning is something he must keep earning.
