Marshal Imogene Tannhauser

Imogene Tannhauser inherited a distinguished name, but she holds the family chair because a foundry vote confirmed it. She mentions that vote often enough to irritate her rivals, who would prefer it remembered as a formality.

It was not one. Every master house cast its vote for her, which means every house now owns a share of her success and a share of the blame if she fails. Imogene keeps the record of the vote aboard Daughter of Drums as a reminder of whom she must answer to, and she has learned how quickly a unanimous council divides once urgent demands arrive.

Her red uniform, high hat, and braided hair make her presence unmistakable. She expects ceremony to mean something and becomes impatient when it is used to avoid an argument. Imogene will listen to dissent from her own foundry, even when the dissent is loud enough for her rivals to hear.
