Marshal Yseult Zhulev
Yseult Zhulev inherited the signal-corps marshalcy from her aunt, along with a set of well-used instructions and a reputation she had not yet earned. Her aunt could coordinate a fleet through confusion because every captain knew what a signal meant before the crisis began. Yseult made that certainty her first concern.
Drumline carries the corps’ instruments and a crew trained to keep messages clear under pressure. Yseult rehearses with allied captains until the signals become familiar, then asks them where misunderstandings remain. She would rather hear a complaint during preparation than discover a dangerous ambiguity when ships are already moving.
She carries her aunt’s brass baton, and the copper earphones at her collar keep her listening to the people carrying her orders. She honors her aunt without trying to imitate her personality. Yseult’s own authority comes from making sure that when she gives a signal, the fleet can answer together.
